I’m so giddy with excitement that in North Texas, FALL IS HERE! It has actually been trying to push its way in for a few weeks now. We got a break from the summer heat a little earlier than we normally do, but yesterday was the first day it’s been “crisp” in the morning! After several rainy days, the sun came out and it’s chilly. MY kinda weather, y’all!!
What do you love about fall? Someone asked me the other day what I love most about fall, and I just can’t narrow it down to one thing, but I’m sharing a few things I thought of.
My Fall Favorites
- Cooler temps. (This has to be the biggest thing because I seriously hate the summer heat)
- Changing leaves. (Don’t you love the glorious colors God gives us in the fall?!!!)
- Pulling out the fall decor and making the house cozy.
Lately, I’ve been slowly getting rid of all the red in the house because I’m just ready for a change. I decided to add in some navy with my teal colors, and I think the traditional pumpkin orange goes beautifully with it.
Also, you can see our fireplace is getting a makeover and I’m in L.O.V.E. More on that later!
Just a peek at our fall dining room table!
- The smell in the air. (YES, the smell of the air changes, especially when people start using their fireplaces!)
- Sweater weather.
- Boots!
- Baking everything pumpkin and caramel! (These pumpkin spice cookies are heaven!)
- Football season. It just goes hand-in-hand with back to school and homecoming…it’s the feeling…and besides that, it’s entertaining to watch my husband get disgusted because his Cowboys lose. All.the.time. 😉
- The State Fair of Texas (Helloooo, all the fried food!!)
- The anticipation of Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner.
- A fire in the fireplace.
- Yummy smelling candles. LOVING this one!
- My birthday. (November)
- Our annual trip to The Dallas Arboretum. (If you’ve never been and you live within driving distance, you owe it to yourself to go in the fall. Their pumpkin displays are amazing! Also, if you time it right you might get to see the pumpkins and their Christmas displays. I don’t know for sure which is my fav!
This is a photo from the first time we took H & L, and to say they were intrigued by all the pumpkins would be an understatement!
- Crunching leaves beneath my feet.
- MORE coffee and hot chocolate!
- Soups and ALLLLL the comfort foods! I made this recipe earlier this week and it was a hit!
- Halloween. It’s typically not my favorite at all, but the kids love it and I love watching their excitement!
Happy Fall, Y’all!
Fall is here and I’m so elated!! In fact, I’m headed out the door on this crisp morning to meet some friends for coffee! What do you love about fall??
Till the next time,
Kassie
