If you love an ice cream party, let me see you raise your hand!
For the last several weeks, I’ve been hosting a small group in my home for some little girls from my church. Our group was “Crafty Girls” and we did a simple craft, and usually some easy baking each time we met. We would spend the time together creating, and then talk about how Jesus can use their creativity, etc.
For our last meeting, I decided to throw them a little ice cream party. It wasn’t fancy and was very last minute as far as planning goes, but they were elated and really had fun. I’m not always an “ice cream” person, but lately, the weather has been so hot that I’ve found myself craving it! So when I started thinking of doing something fun for the girls, and ice cream party is the first thing that came to mind!
For this party, minimal decorations were used, but the girls appreciated it all. I heard “ooo’s” and “ahh’s” the minute they began to arrive.
I used my vintage letter board for a fun quote and dressed it with a gold and white pennant banner. The homemade tissue pom was very last minute!
Everything else was set up on the dining room table. I finally had something to use my cute Rae Dunn containers I bought several months ago at Hobby Lobby! For toppings, I used chopped Oreo’s, chopped Animal Cookies, sprinkles, and chocolate and caramel syrups. In my opinion, Oreo’s and caramel ups the wow factor on any dessert! Can I get an amen??
All the girls got a cup for their ice cream, and I topped with a cone to avoid the huge mess of ice cream cones alone.
We ended up not needing these gold and white straws, but they’re cute, so I put them out just in case. 😉
I put out strawberry and chocolate Yoohoo drinks. I’d say the girls definitely got their calcium intake for the day!
These cute striped paper bags held pencils, lip gloss, and candy. You gotta LOVE the Target dollar bins!
You’ll see there were lots of little happy girls, who filled up on way too much ice cream. But they had SO much fun, and that’s what counts, right?
It doesn’t take a lot of money, or gifts or even a lot of food to make someone feel special. This ice cream party was easy to put together, and very inexpensive as well. Anyone, even if you don’t consider yourself creative, could put a little party like this together.
Ice cream makes any day better, and  I heard a few “best day ever” exclamations from the girls that night. It’s all about the simple pleasures in life, right?

Till the next time,
Kassie
