Spring Decor in the Master Bedroom
I’m so excited to be bringing to you today a little spring decor in the master bedroom of our home. It may be a little odd, as it’s still cold outside and we had some ice just a week ago. But once March is here, it seems like a good time to start making things feel sunny and fresh.
I don’t do too much as far as spring decorating goes….Just a few flowers here and there, and lighter blankets in place of the heavy ones.
Our master bedroom hasn’t had much time on the ole blog. It always feels like the space that’s never been finished, and honestly, feels as if things don’t really “go” together in this space. Judging by the blogs and instagram posts I see, it’s that way for a lot of people. Probably because it’s the space that’s seen the least when company comes, so every other space gets finished first.

Master Bedroom Before
Just for kicks, I’ll show you how this room looked when we bought the house. Well-cared for, but just needed some updating.
I’ll just be up-front and tell you this room typically looks like summer hit it. I’ve never changed up my bed linens in the winter, so the bed is actually the year-round look. And who doesn’t need a room to retreat to that feels sunny in the winter?

I basically just added some fresh and faux flowers, some succulents, stacked some colorful books, switched out a pillow, and called it finished!
But it feels fresh, does it not? 🙂
I’d love to change out some furniture in here for clean lines and modern decor. Maybe sometime in the near future!
Sometimes, you just work with what you’ve got! But I do love my floral and dot Anthropologie quilt and pillow shams, and those floral pillows from Laurel Mercantile! My receipt from the pillows is actually signed by Erin Napier (before she got famous from HGTV’s “Home Town”), and I’ll probably keep it forever. HA!
Fresh flowers will immediately make any space feel spring-like, don’t you agree?
An interesting fact I’m not sure if I’ve ever shared on the blog is about the vintage doors hanging on the wall on either side of the window. When we remodeled our kitchen, I hated to have to get rid of the built in hutch that was in the breakfast nook (now part of the kitchen). But in order to have a space that functioned properly for us, we needed a pantry. So we tore out the built in and hung those doors in the bedroom to keep part of the history in the house. I topped them with faux fern wreaths from Magnolia Market.
Well friends, that sums up this tour of spring decor in the master bedroom. I like to think that simple touches here and there is better than too much (well, unless it’s Christmas… ;-)).
I hope it’s starting to feel like spring wherever you are. It will soon be too hot in Texas!
Till the next time,
Kassie

Kassie,
This is a stunning transformation! What a beautiful room that’s light, airy and has lovely touches of colour and style. I love that you put your bed in front of the window… we have a similar layout and are planning to do the same thing 🙂 So glad I got to see an example of what it looks like.
*pinning!
Cheers,
Denise
